I studied Biomedical Engineering at the University of Padua, with a year abroad at UPV in Valencia and a Master's thesis at EPFL in Lausanne on biosensors for hydration monitoring.

Since then I have worked on medical laser devices — product requirements, testing, documentation and international regulatory compliance — and now on computer system validation in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Alongside that I build with AI, mainly for healthcare but also well beyond it. I'm currently working on EEG-based prototypes for cognitive monitoring.

  • Leading validation, CSV and equipment, of a fully revamped downstream manufacturing line.
  • Validated the automation and control layer (Rockwell FactoryTalk) together with inline optical inspection for plastic film, winder and chill-roll equipment.
  • Validating a parallel project: a new raw-material distribution system feeding the line's hoppers.
  • Implemented a digital, AI-based process optimization project with a Lean Manufacturing approach.

ICD-9 auto-classification with GPT-4o

200K+patient records classified

An LLM pipeline that assigns diagnosis codes automatically. I benchmarked GPT-4o on the open MIMIC-III-50 dataset (precision, F1), tested the method on a public database, then ran it on the client's real data — extracting anatomical region and laterality alongside each code.

EEG wearable for cognitive monitoring

A non-invasive EEG device concept for cognitive monitoring, with Alzheimer's as the target. I co-designed the concept, defined the requirements and built the first interface. Now working on custom in-ear electrodes and hardware feasibility.

Hydration monitoring device

A prototype to track the body's hydration with flexible, non-invasive sensors: an RTD for temperature, an interdigitated sensor for skin hydration, and tetrapolar electrodes for bio-impedance analysis. Validated in vitro and in vivo — a proof of concept for low-cost wearables that could help prevent dehydration in elderly patients.
